Monster Jam 2010
Let me start this out by saying that Kellar loves Monster Jam, the kid knows all the trucks and the drivers and he’ll stop whatever he’s doing to catch Monster Jam. Joey and I bought Kellar tickets to the show in Little Rock, AR a month or so before Christmas and I think we’ve probably been just as anxious as he was just because we couldn’t wait to see his reaction. The weather got pretty bad there on Friday so we really weren’t even sure if we were gonna be able to make it, snow and ice hit the area pretty hard and being that it was a 2 hr drive I was a little afraid of being on the road with other drivers because goodness knows that some people don’t know how to drive on dry roads and when you throw ice in there it can get ugly quick. Kellar woke up Saturday morning and asked if we were going to Little Rock so we looked up the weather and decided to give it a shot, if it got to bad we could always turn around. The farther we got in AR the whiter the trees got, it was so pretty which also meant the farther we got the worse the roads became. I was a nervous wreck! We made it to Little Rock and got checked into our rooms and rested for a hour or so then headed to the Verizon areana, by now the roads were slick and cars were sliding off the roads and I was nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof. Once we got in and got seated Kellar spotted a few trucks and he was so ready for them to come out! I love love loved the look of excitement on his face, I loved hearing him squeal and laugh and point and clap, it totally made my day to see him so happy and excited! He got a Grave Digger shirt which unfortunately wasn’t there, Kellar would’ve been over the top had he or Max D been there! After the show we let Kellar get down and stand in the snow, he was amazed with the snow so for those that aren’t from TX or let me say my area in TX please understand we don’t get that here haha so Kellar had no idea what it was, that too made me giggle at him! I think the trip was awesome, my aunt and uncle tagged along and they adore Kellar and he adores them, they see how funny and amazing he is and love to spend time with him. We got home and noticed that Kellar was running a fever, I felt horrible and that it was somehow my fault since we got him out and it was so cold, his fever was up over 103 and with tylenol and motrin it never got below 102.3. I took him in to see his pedi this mornign and Kellar has strep but his lungs look and sound good so for that I’m thankful! We are planning another trip for the end of the month to see Monster Jam in the Dallas area, this one will have Kellars favorite trucks there, I’m already excited!!!!!
