Seaworld Vacation 2009

We loaded up and headed to San Antonio this weekend for a family vacation and had a blast. Joey and I have not been on a vacation since our honeymoon 8 years ago and since we have Kellar we can’t imagine going on a vacation w/out our child so we made this a trip that was all about the “kids”. Kids? Yes kids. We went on vacation with our friends Donna and Charlie and of course Ms. Brookie! I loved Seaworld, I loved San Antonio but the 106 temp outside made it a little miserable but we managed. Shamu was awesome, just watching how the trainers interact with the animals is mind blowing, seeing how big these creatures are and how they seem so eager to perform is something I could watch over and over again. Kellar was very into Shamu and was all eyes and grins when she first started performing, he then noticed that one of the trainers was riding Shamu and decided that he wanted to ride, when he found out that HE could not ride Shamu he was done! His interest went from all eyes on her to pass me the popcorn and let me throw it on the row of people in front of me. We then headed to the rides section of the park thinking we would kill some time then head back over to watch the dolphins, Kellar was to small for most of the rides so we made our way to the water section to let the kiddos play, Kellar fell asleep before we made it there. I tried to wake him up bc there was a small Shamu rollercoaster that he could’ve rode on but he wasn’t about to pass up on his nap. Brooke decided that she was going to pass on the water toys as well, we were all pretty hot and nasty feeling so we started heading towards the front when I spotted the dolphin tank. I love dolphins. I have always loved dolphins and I was so excited when I realized I could actually feed them. I tried to wake Kellar up, I wanted him to be able to touch them and feed them but really you don’t mess with Kellars naptime, he’s not called BEAR for nothing! We made our way through a few more exhibits and headed back to the hotel to get cleaned up to go eat. We ate at the coolest pizza place, it had different theme rooms and a huge game room. Kellar loved it! He threw a kicking fit when it was time to leave. I really wanted to get a chance to go to the Riverwalk, I have never been nor have I ever been to the Alamo. We did venture downtown and I did get a peek at the Riverwalk and we drove around the Alamo but it was a little late to get out and actually do any sight seeing. Sunday we packed up and hit the outlet malls in San Marcos, I think we walked more there than we did at Seaworld, it was huge! I really wish we would have stayed a few more nights, there was just entirely to much to do and too little time to do it in but we did have a really good time and cant’ wait to start planning our next vacation, but I think we’re all thinking somewhere cold next year!

Splish Splash…

Kellar found a water puddle on our way out of church this morning and had a blast jumping and splashing around in it. Since I allowed him to jump in it this one time I’m sure it’s going to be a fight to keep him out of them from here on.

Happy 4th…

I love holidays, I love getting together with family and good friends and just hanging out, the eating isn’t bad either! Brooke decided she wanted to have a cookout, boy am I glad she did! We had grilled burgers, fried fish and the most delicious desert, yummmm yummmm! This year Kellar enjoyed the fireworks and even decided he didn’t need the earmuffs, my baby boy is growing up! Joey had to work so he missed out on all the fun but he could tell from the filth on Kellars shirt that he had a blast! I hope all had a enjoyable and safe 4th, we sure did.
