Loving the outside..
but hating that darn concrete! Kellars knees, hands and even the backside of his hands and top lip are all banged up from falling the last few days while running on the concrete. Well just keep him off of it right, wrong! I try, I moved him from the concrete to the grass a dozen times in less than an hour and finally I gave up and let him run wild, kids are all going to get bumps and bruises or so I’ve been told! He’s such a tough little fella though, I remember falling and scraping my knee as a kid and crying for at least 10 minutes before I was ready to get down and take off again, not Kellar he’s back up and at it before I even get to see the amount of blood oozing from his scrape. I had a garage sale this weekend and Kellar played so much he wore me out watching him, he cried when I made him finally go inside with his Paw. We went that evening to Layne and Baylis birthday parties, Kellar had a blast! The kids were all running wild, playing in the dirt ( thank you God that Kellar did not join in on this ) playing ball, riding toys and coloring on the sidewalks. As soon as we walked up he spotted Abby and took off running while hollering “Abbyyyyyy” and of course he tripped up and fell on the concrete, scraped what little bit of skin was left on his knee off, I’m seriously thinking I may need to invest in knee pads for him to wear outside! He found a battery operated 4-wheeler and hopped on, Kellar has just recently learned to ride the toys that you have to move your feet to move them, so of course he’s trying to move this 4-wheeler along with his feet which made him madder than a hornet when it wouldn’t move like he wanted to. I finally got him to put his feet up and push the button, he only ran off the edge everytime he got near it, we got the feet up down pat, the pushing the red button to make it go but steering just wasn’t a easy skill to master, regardless he looked so cute in his Harley Davidson do-rag cruising along and grinning ear to ear. Most of the kids went on a hayride, I chose to stay behind because it was getting cooler outside and Kellar has picked up a little cough so Kellar and Abby hung out in the garage riding toys. Bayli wanted a bonfire for her party so when it got darker they lit up the fire, Kellar grabbed my hand and said “ohhh hot ohhh hot” and started blowing like he was trying to cool it off, he’s so funny and his seriousness cracks me up! Our weekend was busy busy busy but at least Kellar enjoyed every minute of it being outside!

Four States Fair 08…
Kellar loved the fair! I was a little surprised at how well he did with the rides, I honestly thought that the swift movement of some of the rides and the hustle and bustle and noises would really send him into a tizzy, but he fooled me! We stopped by Old McDonalds Farm and he petted the cows and the horses and even had a baby goat try to climb up in the stroller with him. He rode a ponie and grinned from ear to ear the whole time. The rides….the kid loved them and couldn’t get off one and onto the other quick enough. I rode a few rides with Brooke and suffered for it dearly within a few hours of leaving the fair, I must have forgotten that I am no longer in my 20’s. Kellar had so much fun we decided to go back on Sunday so he could ride some more, this time Joey got to ride the rides with Brooke and I got to laugh so hard at their faces that I almost passed out a time or two, nothing like a look of terror or someones face! I have lots of pictures to post of my handsome lil man riding the rides, gosh he looked like such a big boy!!!!
Papaw….
Fee da amibals…which translates into papaw feed the animals! Yay Kellar, 4 words buddy! Kellar has gotten much better with putting 3 words together, I seriously wasn’t expecting a 4 word sentence anytime soon and I may not hear one again for quite sometime but it sure did make my day. Kellar has also been dropped down to 1 time a week pt, woo hoo! He can now count to 10 and will drop to the ground and start doing push ups while counting, yes I love this kid! Yes this was a short update but I have to get some rest… I’m taking Kellar to the fair tomorrow, wish me luck!
UPDATE: 102.8 temp = No fair for Bear! My poor lil man feels miserable. So after dropping a chunk at the dr’s office we leave w/omnicef and a sinus infection diagnosis! Maybe Saturday he’ll feel like going to ride the ponies, sorry Brookie-poo we’ll shoot for Saturday, keep your fingers crossed girlie!
Hot popcorn butter…
and your little ones forehead are not good combination. Let’s just say that as a mother I felt horrible! Kellar has this thing about opening the microwave oh uhm say 179 times a day, no matter how many times I have popped his hands he still continues to do it. He decided he wanted some popcorn, I put it in the microwave and he was really good about not opening the door while it was popping. When it was done popping he flung the door open, I reached in and grabbed the bag because I was afraid if he grabbed it the steam would come out of the bag and burn him, I picked it up and went to move it from the microwave to the counter and hot grease fell onto Kellars forehead, there was a hole in the bottom of the bag. I was so mad because there was a hole in this popcorn bag and the grease has burnt my childs head, he’s screaming and I am wanting to panic! I start trying to wipe it off and I pick him up and sit down with him, his forehead has this huge red spot on it. I go to my moms and let her look at it and I notice it’s starting to blister up some. He’s such a tough little guy though, he seriously only cried for maybe a minute and then it’s like nothing ever happened, I have been burnt by grease before and it hurts for hours. I have been putting vitamin ointment on it and it’s looking better already, my poor tinky man! Well IKE is about to knock out my electricity…
Mom and Tot Gymnastics…
Kellar and I attended our first session of mom and tot gymnastics today, I’m not sure who got the better workout Kellar or myself but I’m leaning more towards me! I have considered putting him in this class for a few months now but honestly I wasn’t sure how “structured” it was going to be and Mr. Kellar is all about anything but structure. As soon as we walk through the door he spots the steps, these steps are like the stairway to Heaven steps and I was in no shape to hike up them. I managed to get him onto the gym floor and diverted his attention from the steps to the trampoline where all the other little ones were, mind you most were sitting there so nice and calm and here comes my child barreling down the trampoline and the unsteadiness of the trampoline sent him face first on top of one of the little kids. I smiled while trying to get Kellar back up onto his feet and was praying that the kid wasn’t going to start screaming. The teacher has us form a choo choo train and run around the floor, Kellar wanted to run alright but around the floor in a circle wasn’t exactly what he had on his agenda, our part of the train jumped off the tracks more than once. Next we sat in a circle and did stretches, well we attempted to do stretches but Kellars idea of stretching was seeing how many times he could roll away from me while kicking and screaming. After our stretching/wrestling session we went around to different stations and I helped him do a roll down one of the mats, a backwards roll down a mat and several other things that he actually liked. Kellar got to walk on a balance beam and I was actually surprised at how well he did, I held onto him but he knew to put one foot in front of the other. Once everyone finished with the balance beam it we sat in another circle around a trampoline that was surrounded by mats and each kid got to take a turn jumping on it, Kellar got in the middle and took off like a bull out of the chute, over the mats he went and towards the gymnast bars, I tear off after him not realizing that some of those mats are like booby traps, you get on it and it sinks or it’s spring loaded. By now I look like I have been sweating to the Oldies and I’m thinking this has been the longest 45 minutes I have ever been a part of! The class lined up on the long trampoline and was supposed to jump like a bunny all the way to the end and then it just drops off into this pit of foam blocks, I’m not sure how far of a drop it was but from where I stood it looked pretty far. Kellar gets up there and bless his heart he just doesn’t have “jump” down yet, he takes off and the unsteadiness sends him face first again but my tough guy gets right back up and takes off again, he gets to the end and she drops him in the pit. He was a little unsure of it, but once he got out I was having to run block to keep him from falling back into it. All the kids sat down and waited on the sucker box to be passed around, guess whose kiddo grabbed a handful? Oh yes that would be mine! I am really thinking about enrolling him in this class, I think it would really be good for Kellars balance, coordination and ahhhh yes maybe help get him accustomed to some structured activities! Tonight Kellar and I went to the football game, he did really well! The noise at first upset him but by the end of the 2nd quarter he was munching on raisins, peanuts and naming the color of the M&Ms before he ate them.
