Whatta day…
Kellar is not feeling well, his nose is a constant drip, he’s had fever off and on and from time to time I think someone may have smuggled a seal into my house. I hate it when he’s sick, especially when he’s sick and entering the terrible 2’s. I was just reading a fellow bloggers post on her little one that has entered the terrible 2’s, while reading her post I was thinking how similar our little fellas act. Kellar wants to feed himself so bad with a spoon, he can hold it properly but he wants to flip it upside down and everything on the spoon ends up in the floor or on his lap, I know he has got to learn how to use utensils and I have no doubt he’ll eventually get it but man these fits to feed himself are wearing me out. If he doesn’t get his way he’ll flop out in the floor and kick his legs up and down, if nothing else he’s getting a good leg work out. I suppose him throwing his cup, toys, crayons and the remote across the room is his way of working out his arms, Joey was just complimenting how muscular Kellars arms are so I can only imagine what they will look like if we have to wait till he’s 3 to say goodbye to the terrible 2’s. I have always said that Kellar does things more according to his adjusted age, well guess who turned 2 adjusted the 23rd, yes sir Kellar! I have seen little things earlier that made me think he’s just acting like a 2 year old but he has never ever thrown fits like he has today, never! He can be so sweet though, he can go from throwing a fit and screaming and crying to saying mommy mommy hold me, then once I get him in my lap he decides that’s not what he wanted he like throwing a fit better. He did however do something today that I have been waiting on, he learned how to push himself along on the little push toys, before he would just sit on them or get behind them and push it but today he sat on it and started scooting himself backwards, I was rather proud of it even though he was going through the house in reverse, then he came to a wall and started going forward, even figured out how to turn the wheel. Kellars new word is hundred, ha what a smart kid I have I’ve only worked with him to 5 guess I need to challenge him a little more…ha ha!
Out with the old…
and in with the new and a bunch of other stuff! Kellar has been in need of new glasses, my dad only helped speed up the process by stepping on Kellars old pair. Kellars eyes have not had much change in the last year, the dr actually dropped his rt eye from -3.5 to -3 and Kellar actually wears the new glasses now without much of a fuss. Kellars old pair had the transitions lenses, it was nice to only have 1 pair of glasses to worry with and when we were out in the sun he had “sunglasses” as well, but this time we went with 2 different pairs. I love them! I also took Kellar to the dentist to have a spot checked on one of his teeth, it turned out to be nothing to much to worry over. Brushing his teeth has gotten much much better, no cavities! So we left w/a new toothbrush, toothpaste and a nice bump on the back of his head. Note to Kellar: Son if you are going to fall out in the floor and throw your head back in a fit be sure you are away from things such as oh I don’t know a door facing maybe. Kellar also has a snotty nose, not sure if we picked this up at the dentist, the pool or maybe it’s just the yucky humid dry dusty weather are having. Last night was a pretty sleepless night, hope this clears up soon! And last but not least…we have a 3 word sentence! More snacks please!!!!! Yay Kellar, I am so proud.

The Elderly…
Ok so I am not one to hi-jack my sons blog with a bunch of nonsense, this blog was really made for him but…this post does in general talk about something I really hope to instill in Kellar as he grows up. Today Kellar, my mom and I were eating at a local restraunt when this older couple came in, I for one think old people are just cute as can be, yes of course I know that some are meaner than a snake but I didn’t get that vibe from them. The lady wore a black sparkly cowboy *girl* hat and a black jacket with a little scarf tied around her neck, the older man had on a pair of overalls, he and my papaw would get along great! So I notice this group of teenagers ( punks ) walking by them and being seated at a corner table, as they sat down they began to snicker and make fun of the attire this lady chose to wear out. I was so blooming furious. What is wrong with people now days? I just don’t get it, what was their purpose for making fun of her, where on earth is the respect for the elderly? I may make a comment about the girl who just walked into the local mall with a spiked dog collar around her neck sporting the neon green hair do, but never never never will you catch me making fun of a elderly person. Did they feel that she dressed to impress them, she came out to enjoy a bite to eat and was minding HER own business. To top it all off the father joined them at the table and then he turned, looked at her and started laughing to. I could have knocked the chair out from under him, did she snicker at him and tell him he needed to lay off the chips and settle for a dinner salad? I was so upset over this, for me to blog about it you can pretty much guarantee that it’s still something that is weighing heavily on my mind. Do parents not teach their children any morals? I pray that Kellar will respect those older than him, I pray that he will look to the elders for guidance and wisdom, most of all I pray that this value will be something that I as a parent teach him.
Is my kid smart or what???
Kellar loves bath time, usually it consist of him splashing around and getting every tile in our bathroom soaking wet. Last night I was watching him put his face *lips* down into the water, I kept noticing him putting his hand up by his face, well come to find out the little stinker was pinching his nose and sticking his face into the water, I was amazed. How on earth did he figure this out, aghhhh because he’s a smart kid that’s how! I spend so much of my day just laughing at him, you never know what he’s going to do next, he’s such a mess. In case you haven’t noticed, I love this kid!!!!
A fun day with…
Grammpy ( Kellars version of Grammy ) and Papaw. This kid is going to think that all men are titled Papaw! He has 2 Papaws and 2 Great Papaws and they are all called Papaw. At least the women have different titles. We took Kellar out to visit with Joeys mom and dad today, he loved it. He played with every toy Sydney had out there ( it’s okay for me tell that Kellar she can’t read yet ). Grammpy fixed spaghetti and heated up some beans for Kellar though he was far more interested in the *food* that we adults know as dog food. Kellar and Papaw spent a lot of time in the floor coloring and building blocks, well Papaw built the blocks and Kellar came through and knocked them down. Lets hope all this playing wore him out so he’ll be ready to go to bed before long, mommys tired!
