New pics….
New pics just posted…including Kellar’s first trip to the park, and his first ride on Horsie! Ok here’s the story on Horsie…Kellar had to take a trip to get his band adjusted last week. While he was there, apparently Chrys let him ride on the bouncy horse they had in the waiting room. Well after she sent me a pic of him on it to my cell phone, i knew he had to have one. So i ordered it (noone locally carried them) and was going to wait until his birthday to give it to him…but i couldn’t help it.
Here is the pic she sent me…keep in mind this is from a cell phone…

Tell me you could resist getting that baby a horsie…
How could I forget????
I can’t believe I have not posted about the adjustment Kellar has already had to have on his band, such great news and I slack on posting about it, shame shame…So good news is that the band is working, Joey and I think that we can tell a difference already, of course I was thinking that it was more wishful thinking, but when we went to Dallas on Monday because I had noticed Sunday evening that it looked like a rub mark on Kellars cheek she said that it was rubbing because it needed to be adjusted, yeeeaaahhhh…I was excited and had to call everyone and tell them that the bands working…Kellar also has 3 teeth coming in at once, poor fella, he’s not been cranky or whiny though, so this will make him 7 teeth all together, seems like every time I look I see a new sprout…Kellars newest trick is pulling himself across the floor, he has done this before but watching him now I think the earlier scooting was just a by chance thing, but now he is scooting and pulling himself all over the place…I don’t think it’ll be too much longer before he’s crawling all over the place…I am quite proud of this progress, just a few weeks ago when we had our PT eval Kellar wasn’t doing this, well actually stuff that he normally does such as prop sitting, and rolling he for some reason refused to show the PT that he could do this, so his eval was quite lower than what I had wanted…He’s a eater, he takes after momma and daddy on this, I sometimes wonder where on earth is he putting all of it, he is up to eating 2 veggies and 2 fruits and cereal in one sitting, I have tried to get by with only one serving of each and when he sees me scraping the bottom of the container, he starts squealing, guess this could be why he gains at least 1 lb every 2 weeks….Kellar will be competing in the Mr. L-E pageant in April, I am quite excited and we are gearing up for his 1st birthday party, we have lots and lots planned…We still need walkers for the March of Dimes and donations are appreciated…
Back from Dallas…
Well yesterday we made the trip to Dallas to get Kellar’s band (helmet). We were gone ALL day, since we had to be at Cranial Tech at 9 AM to get the band…then be back in about an hour and a half to let them check the fit…then go get it painted…then pick it up 5 hours later and head home. So needless to say, we were all worn completely out when we finally got home last night.
When she first put the band on Kellar, he didn’t like it. He pulled and scratched at it, and generally seemed to want it off. But after a few minutes it didn’t really seem to bother him. So we took it to be painted, and killed a lot of time, fought rush hour traffic etc. We had the band painted black with his name in yellow lined in red on the front, a picture of Lightning McQueen (from the movie Cars…Kellar’s favorite movie) on the back and lightning bolts on the sides. Then we had her put “Made in Heaven” along the bottom on the back, and a little cross with Cameron’s initials back there too.
Here is a pic of Bear with the newly painted band on the way home last night…

I also put up some new pics in the gallery, including pics of the band before and after painting.
Right now Mom and Kellar’s Mimi have taken to the doctor…as Kellar seems to have gotten another sinus infection, this time from his ECI therapist i suspect.
Also Kellar weighs 18 lbs 12 oz as of last Tuesday…so he’s gained like 11 oz. in 2 weeks. You can tell too, his little legs are starting to get chubby…and the band really makes his face look chubby, along with making him look mad all the time.
And on a final note…just a reminder about the March of Dimes walk coming up in April. We still need donations, so if you are willing to give or have any fund raising ideas we might use…please let us know. And many thanks to those of you who have already donated either by money to us or the March of Dimes, or the thoughts and prayers for ourselves and mostly, Kellar. We really appreciate it.
A unwanted guest….
has taken up residence in my lil bears body, ok don’t freak out just yet, he’s got this lovely stomach bug that is obviously floating around…Poor guy has really tested the ability of a pampers cruiser to hold a massive explosion the last few days..How long will this thing stick around???? Sunday was day one, well I consider it day one, his poo was rather loose, not exactly water consistency but pretty darn close…I decided to take him to the dr on Monday because I am not one of these moms who will set and watch her child be sick for days upon days before deciding that maybe, just maybe they need to be seen…We go and see Dr. Wright and Kellar still has a sinus infection( diagnosed the previous Friday ) and now has a gi bug that should only last for a few days, not sure exactly how many translates to a few but I feel we’re about to pass a few…Again I sit and wonder, scratch my head and really really think, where did he get this? We don’t go anywhere, then this little light bulb goes off inside my head, that previous week we had to take Kellar to therapy, yes we had to get him out, we scheduled him in the morning so we would hopefully not be around dozens of kiddos, and that part we had covered, but the therapist informed me that her little girl was home with a stomach bug, now I know that I should have picked Kellar up and ran, not walked but ran to the nearest exit and called from my cell phone on my way back to my house where we strive to keep germs out and rescheduled his appt for a day when his therapist is there and her child is not sick…Yes I know that Kellar is going to be exposed to germs and that at times it is going to be unavoidable, but seriously the therapist really should have thought about staying home especially when her job involves working with children…But hopefully this bug will pick up and move on out, if not I may have to write it an eviction notice…
