Kellar rolled over and over….

He did it…Kellar rolled over from his back to tummy, then on over from his tummy to back….Pretty soon he’ll be all over the house, but you won’t hear me complaining…Joey called me today while my mom and I were in town to inform me of the latest news, I was a little bummed that I didn’t get to see him do it the first time, but he showed off for me and his meemaw and did it again…I think we are gonna do a little tree for Kellars room in Nascar, since his favorite driver won the chase and all…Mom and I also went today to get some Christmas decorations for Camerons headstone, we put him a little tree up, and decorated it with snowmen, it’s really really cute…Kellars other grandparents came over and visited him tonight, he was such a happy baby, talking and rolling everywhere….Kellar had his first taste of juice tonight, I only gave him a little bit really watered down, he loved it…

Thanksgiving Dinner….

Stuffed…Miserable…If I move I’m gonna bust…Ring a bell???? What is it about the “holidays” that makes you want to eat till you are busting at the seams?  We ate not once, but twice…We went to my aunt and uncles house for lunch, which I might add was put together by my cousins Elizabeth and Becca, and they did a wonderful job…Unfortunately my aunt Debbie was not feeling well, but the girls stepped right on up and took over where Debbie left off…That night we went to my parents house, which is generally my parents, my memaw and papaw Norvel, Becky, River, Jeremy, Stacy and of course me, Joey and Kellar…It has been a long tradition that after we eat that night, all of the women put up moms’ Christmas decorations, but since I have Kellar now we sat in the recliner and supervised this year…Joeys family celebrated their Thanksgiving today, we were unable to attend since there was other little ones there, right now we are limiting Kellars exposure to other kiddos…We did however take him last night to visit with his Nanny, Dell, Kay and Dwayne…

So much to be thankful for…

I hope that everyones Thanksgiving was wonderful, I know ours was…Joey and I have so much to be thankful for….We are blessed with great family and friends, and of course our son Kellar…First we are so thankful that God carried Kellar through the toughest of times, because of this Kellar is now home…We are so thankful for all of the thoughts and prayers, I still run into people in public and they tell me how much they have prayed for Kellar, some of these people I do not even know, but they still took the time to say a prayer for my son, and for this we are forever thankful…Sadly I know there were lots of familys with little ones still in the hospital, here’s praying that they will be home in time to celebrate Christmas…Again thank you to all that have kept up with Kellars progress, thought about him and prayed for him, and thank you in advance for the many prayers still to come…

7 months…( 4 months adjusted )

Wow I can’t believe that Kellar is already 7 months old…We took Kellar to his 4 month check-up at Tiny Tots…Confused by the 7 and 4? Well for those that don’t understand ( even I still get confused…) Since Kellar was born 3 months early, he is 7 months old, but when it comes to developmental milestones you subtract how early he was from how old he is…Cary thought Kellar looked great, he is actually doing things on a 5 month old level, so although he is not up to par with the 7 month olds, he is however ahead of being just 4 months, which is to be expected, she said that he is exactly where she would expect him to be and she is very impressed…They were considering starting him on big boy food, but we will hold out on this until he can really hold his head steady, he is doing a good job with this, but still could use another month or so to perfect it….She did say that he is a little on the “tense” side, but nothing to get overly concerned about…While she does not foresee any issues for Kellar, she said that until he is of course at least a year old we do have to keep all the preemie possibilities in mind such as cp, she said that she is very doubtful that this will be a issue seeing how well Kellar is doing, and how well he moves all his extremities…We have also noticed that Kellar’s head is misshaped, I have noticed this as well, we are to work on this and if it does not seem to be getting better we will be referred to a specialist….He does prefer to lay with his head to the right, Cary said that this is because in the NICU most of the nurses are right handed, and so they therefore tend to work to the right, which in turn means that they have the babys heads turned to the right…Kellar is in the 75-90th percentile as far as his weight and height, his head is also of appropriate size…He weighed in at 13 lbs 12.2 oz…They have decided to try and take Kellar off of his bethanacyl ( used to speed up motility ), we are not going to take away his prilosec just yet as she did not want to make too many changes in one day, so we will see how he does with this change and maybe he’ll come off all meds before to long…He should be about the age where he will outgrow his reflux…The monitor people are coming out to swap monitors with me so they can download all the alarms to see if he is ready to come off of the monitor soon, which will be nice to be cord free, but if you see me out please excuse the bags under my eyes in advance as I am sure I won’t be sleeping well for awhile…So as I wrap up this long post, please continue to pray for Kellar’s stiffness, and that his head will even out as it should…Oh and Becca Kellar says thanks for keeping him company in the backseat and hope you can tag along again sometime….

New pics!

It’s that time of the month again! Seems that nowadays we have gone from updating pics every week to about once a month…but tonight I uploaded two galleries worth. We go to Tiny Tots tomorrow for Kellar’s 4 month check-up, and I think he may be getting some shots too…but don’t quote me. I can’t wait to see how much he weighs this time. Kellar is getting really good at rolling over now. Last night he got rolled over then was able to get his knees under him and his butt shot straight up in the air…it was pretty hilarious. He spent a good part of today watching the Nascar race on tv. This was the last race of the season, so it was a pretty big deal. My Dad came by this morning to drop off a Jimmie Johnson cap for Kellar to wear during the race, and we put him in his Jimmie outfit (with matching bib), so he could root for his favorite driver…which just so happens to be our favorite driver also (the boy has good taste, what can I say). When the race was over Jimmie was this year’s Nextel Cup Series Champion. Kellar was so excited! We have pics to prove it…
